I'm Lindsey, founder of FerrisBuilt and an NFT Artist with a few collections on Opensea. I live in Seattle, Washington with my identical twin daughters. I lost my company of 12 years due to Covid in the spring of 2020 (an event production company) and had to figure out a way to pivot and make a living when the industry that I've worked in my entire 25+ career - was shut down. As a single parent, this was a bit scary to say the least!
I decided to pursue my creative side in July of 2020 and see if I could make a go of my wood wall art, abstract art paintings and apparel designs that I've been doing as a a passion and hobby for a few years - and figured "why not now?" My motivation was to still be a business owner as I enjoy that challenge and find a way to have a work schedule that I can prioritize my time around my children's schedule.
My apparel & goods are a way that I express things I feel strong about with topics such as mental health and self-care. My art is how I express myself personally as an outlet for my own mental well being. As is typical of creative types, I wear many hats and am also currently working on my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am passionate about mental health and awareness both professionally and personally and this is why I donate 25% of net proceeds to mental health advocacy.
My shop no longer has wood art in it, but I do still get into my woodshop which is what inspired the name "FerrisBuilt."
Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have any suggestions!
